Mapping

Star Wars Republic Commando comes with its own editing tools that you can use to modify maps, scripts, etc... called UnrealED, short for Unreal Editor.

We will be focusing on mapping and explain the basics of how to make a map and how to further edit/modify it.

First, Locate your Republic Commando Directory and find your System Folder within the GameData folder. If you have steam the directory to find it should be similar: (DriveLocation):\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System.

Once you locate the folder, find UnrealED.exe within it. Once you do, Open it and it should load similar to the game starting up, except with a progress bar. It should load up 2 windows of different sizes. The one that takes the majority of your screen is the Map Editing window. It should have 4 different perspective viewports that allow you to modify your map in different perspectives. The second window which is usually smaller and opens with the editor is the window that manages your textures, scripts, sounds, animations, etc... This is where you can mod your game to create Gamemodes, Textures, and so-on.
